Ford has introduced Intelligent Speed Assist on the New Transit Custom which has been designed to enhance speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road, perfect if you are renting a van from us for your business and are on the road all day. First, the Traffic Sign Recognition camera automatically detects the current speed limit (when activated), and then the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit.
With the addition of Ford’s advanced Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre engines, the New Transit Custom is designed to meet the tough new Euro Stage 6 emissions standards, reducing emissions and cutting your running costs, making this an ideal business rental van. Even though the engines are smaller than the 2.2 litre Duratorq engines they still deliver more power!
Ford understand how important it is to stay connected in business on the go and so have introduced the Ford SYNC 3 which is an advanced system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system. Choose either voice commands or the 8” colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. Live Traffic can help you avoid the jams.
If you have the need, Ford’s Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your van’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.
Perhaps most importantly for all your van hire lovers is the fact that the New Transit Custom can carry standard 8’ x 4’ boards flat on the floor or three euro pallets with ease. Thanks to its innovative and convenient load-through storage area, it can also hold items up to 3.4m long (L2), without stopping you from using the front passenger seats. Overall, the van provides up to six cubic metres of load space with a bulkhead fitted, and that’s just the short wheelbase version: the long wheelbase offers up to 6.8 cubic metres. It has the widest side load door-opening of any vehicle of its type. And the sliding doors have a new mechanism which holds them securely open for loading.
